Brent Allison

Vice-President, Marketing
TELUS International

Residing in Calgary, Alberta, Brent leads a dynamic marketing team responsible for delivering creative solutions to service provider and international retail markets worldwide. Since joining TELUS in 2001 Brent has led Customer Engineering, Product Marketing, Business Development and Strategic Planning functions. His team is now the trusted partner of choice for customers who depend on TELUS for industry expertise, innovative technology and a seamless experience for their own customers.

Brent began his career with a Dow Chemical and Eli-Lilly joint venture- DowElanco Canada. After stints in inside sales, database marketing and customer service, Brent accepted a transfer to Winnipeg as a Territory Sales Rep. After successfully managing a large dealer network, Brent joined Northern Telecom's Norstar marketing team, in Calgary, supporting the international small and medium business markets. During this time Brent had the pleasure to work on a small product team that successfully introduced, from concept, one of the first legitimate IP-PBXs, the Business Communications Manager. The convergence project combined knowledge from the acquisition of Bay Networks (Baystack) and traditional telephony from the Norstar product line. In 1999 Brent moved to Ottawa to help establish and verify the strategic direction for Nortel's Application Service Provider markets - leveraging Alteon and Shasta acquisitions.

Brent is a Board member and Vice-Chair of the Alberta Science & Technology Leadership Foundation, Board member of WiTec Alberta, a Board observer of a California based start-up, an active mentor alumnus with the University of Calgary and a volunteer with the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation. In 2009, Brent was named to Avenue magazine's "Calgary Top 40 under 40." He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary.
